Long Way Home

A recent graduate of UC Berkeley, Sarena Kuhn is a civil engineer and writer living in the San Francisco Bay Area. "Long Way Home" was selected as a finalist in BART Lines contest, 2022.

My mother told me I should never date a guy who didn't have his own car. She said that it set some bad precedent, mixed up the lines between provider and provided-for. There's nothing more ladylike than the passenger seat, is what she said to me. She's always been a bit old-fashioned in that way. I kind of got what she was saying.
